VFW Eligibility

There are three primary requisites for membership in the Veterans of Foreign Wars: 1. Citizenship 2. Honorable service in the armed forces of the United States 3. service entitling the applicant to the award of a recognized campaign medal or evidence of being in an area of hostile fire or imminent danger.

If you have earned any of the following campaign medals, it is likely that you are eligible for membership into the VFW.   Check with the Post to verify your eligibility.

China Service,  American Defense Service,  European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign,  American Campaign,  Asiatic- Pacific Campaign,  Army of Occupation,  Navy Occupation Service Medal,  Korean Service Medal,  Navy & Marine Corps Expeditionary Medal,  Vietnam Service Medal,  Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal,  Southwest Asia Service Medal,  Kosovo Campaign Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge & Combat Medical Badge,  Combat Action Ribbon,  Combat Action Badge, SSBN Nuclear Deterrent Patrol Breast Insignia,  Korea Duty,  Korea Defense Service Medal,  Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal,  Afghanistan Campaign Medal.  Iraq Campaign Medal,  Air Force Expeditionary Service Ribbon with GOLD BORDER,  Hostile Fire or Imminent Danger Pay.
