Memorial Day Cemetery Flags
Every year Post 799 places flags on the graves of all departed veterans at St. Joseph’s and Monadnock View Cemeteries. At least 8 people are needed to do both cemeteries at the same time. This is about a two hour task at each cemetery. Volunteers are to meet at the Post at 9 am on Wednesday, May 26th with a rain date of Thursday, May 27th. We welcome all members, family members and friends to come help.
Poppy Drive
The annual Buddy Poppy Drive will be held on Friday, May 28th and Saturday, May 29th. This year we need more volunteers than usual for we lost one of our great sites and have to make it up by adding smaller businesses. We have permission to be at the State Liquor Store, 7-11 Court Street, Penneys, and Agway Achille. All one has to do is stand there with the Poppies and a collection can. When someone donates, give them a Poppy – they sell themselves. Remember that all the money collected goes to help our fellow veterans and their families who are in need.
Sign up at the Post or fill out the form at the end of the Newsletter. An hour or two is all we ask.
