The Ladies Auxiliary will be putting on a Sunday Brunch Buffet, September 21 from 9:30 AM - 1 PM. The cost is a very reasonable $6/person.

With all that sweet corn about to come in the Post is going to do its part to help eat some of it.

Bring your appetites Saturday September 6 starting at 12 PM and enjoy the Post’s annual corn roast. It’s always a good time rain or shine. Cost is a reasonable $6/person.

Talking About A Vet Center

The topic of a NH based Veterans’ Centers has been in the news recently and despite the fact that there are centers in Berlin and Manchester, most of the Vets in this area that I know travel to the White River Junction, VT facility.

Given gas prices, the increasing age of vets and the winter weather, having a center local to the Keene area would make a lot of sense. Having a full service Veterans medical facilty close by would be even better.

Our resident Karaoke masters, Mr & Mrs Karaoke (AKA Duane and Bony) are video taping the first hour or so of Friday night Karaoke. The video is edited and then show on local cable outlets:

Cheshire TV - channel 8 in the Keene, NH area; Wednesday night from 9-10 PM (re-run other times)
FACT TV - channel 8 in the Bellows Falls, NH area

Starting Something

I’m not a member, but a regular attendee at VFW 799 functions and events. I know quite a number of the members and enjoy spending time with them. Over the years I’ve talked to various post officials about creating a web presense but have not been able to get any traction getting someone to post news and information about the post, its members, leadership, events, and other on-goings at the “club”.

So, since I’m hosting the site I’ll start posting what I know about the Post and hopefully it’ll catch on a bit. Perhaps someone “official” will take some interest. For now, consider this the “unofficial” web site of Post 799.
